Balmoral

During my sophomore year of high school, I transferred to this institution. From the outset, I felt unwelcome and experienced a sense of loneliness. The students held negative sentiments towards me due to my sexual orientation. Despite my lack of involvement in extracurricular activities such as clubs, sports, or theater, I made the decision to leave the school. My reasons for this decision were as follows: first, I am not an avid sports participant; second, the clubs are scheduled during early morning advisory sessions on Wednesdays; and third, I did not want to further exacerbate the negative treatment I was receiving from other students in the theater department. While I acknowledge the exceptional quality of the teachers at this school, I believe that the student body as a whole falls short in fostering inclusivity. The school emphasizes “brotherhood,” but unfortunately, “gay” students are frequently subjected to bullying and ostracism. So the brotherhood isn’t fully there.
