Sunset Beach

I went to Glen Landing as a student and my child(ren) also attended. I’m not sure why this school doesn’t have more stars. It is an awesome environment with some super creative teachers and fabulous leadership. My experience as a parent at glen landing was wonderful. Kids were motivated, praised, given incentives to learn. Every teacher I encountered was very approachable. It prepares extremely well for high school with great academics and encouragement for independence

My experience with this school is phenomenal. They take the time to actually get to know the child and the family so the educational instruction is suited to the individual. I am glad to be in such an inviting atmosphere where you can feel the care provided by the staff and the involvement of the families.

We chose this school because of the Sister who was here years ago. Since then, the principal and faculty has changed and the school is not great. If I could talk to all incoming parents I would tell them the school was great back 10 years ago but not any longer as it is in need of a huge revamp. I believe the old administration at the school actually would remove and suspend dangerous/super disrespectful kids, but thats not the case since these days and unfortunately the good kids suffer. Please look into other private schools in the area because I don’t believe many of the kids/families are here for the “Catholic School”, but rather many were thrown out of other schools and the parents instead of putting them in a behavior program, put them here. It’s sad, the principal should be referring these kids to specific behavioral programs to benefit them, not putting the pressure on teachers to deal with kids who have severe behavioral issues. I am hearing this moreso with respect to students who came in 2020 and beyond and were admitted by new principal.

Teachers are amazing but lack support from administrators. These administrators should not be education due to their lack of empathy and definitely not be in special education due to lack of qualifications. Always missing 1:1 staff because they can not hire enough people to work there since it's so toxic. Kids are suffering and not getting the services legally required by law. They continue to accept kids and can not provide services because they need the money. Avoid for the sake of your child.
