My names is James Coakley, Detroit Community in my eyes is more than just a school it's a family. Im very thankful for all the things the staff does for not just the students but the parents also. Detroit Community goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to the students. Coats are given to students in the winter at no charge, backpacks and all school supplies are given to the students free of charge which is a big help to us as parents. Detroit Community School academic curriculum goes above state standards which prepares the students for the next grade level and beyond. The staff is always available to talk and meet at all times with parents and students. Detroit Community School also provides free tutoring as well as latch key and aftercare for students that assist parents with later work schedules. Detroit Community School is A true blessing for me as a parent. I highly suggest parents look into enrolling their children in Detroit Community School K-12.
