We have been so pleasantly surprised with FSE, the quality of teachers, how fast our son has been learning, and the values they are instilling in him.

If your child has special needs that are not physical challenges your child's needs will not In any way be accommodated here, and may not in Grant Co. The principal is terrible and will discriminate against your child. Qualified help for non-physical special needs does not exist. The school is like a jail, just like any county lockup. The principal Wants that. Good teachers/therapists have retired. It is sad.

As a concerned parent, I have become increasingly frustrated with the lack of communication between the school and families. We made multiple attempts to address concerns by meeting with the principal, but unfortunately, the issues we raised were never resolved.There seems to be constant staff turnover, and it's discouraging to see dedicated teachers leave or be reassigned. From what we've observed, staff members do not appear to receive the support they need, and concerns brought forward by both parents and staff often seem to go unheard. It's especially concerning that staff who took their concerns to the superintendent reportedly felt dismissed.Another concern is the way student behavior is handled. At times, it feels like inappropriate behavior is rewarded while consistent expectations are lacking. The school's lunch policy is also troubling. Children are expected to remain completely silent during lunch, and if they talk, they can lose the only recess they have during the day and be required to walk laps instead. Taking away their only opportunity to socialize and play during the school day seems excessive.After giving the district multiple opportunities to address these concerns, I ultimately made the difficult decision to withdraw my child from the district. My hope is that meaningful changes are made so future students, families, and staff can have the positive and supportive school environment they deserve.
