Golden Acres

My three sons attend this school. Two of my boys are doing fantastic with their teachers, but my other son isn't. He has a behavioral problem. We as parents have tried getting the teacher to refer him for an IEP especially since she treats him as if he's nothing but a problem for her. We've done everything in our power at home to help him and he comes home to tell us a teacher calls us bad parents. Even after speaking with the superintendent about it there doesn't seem to be much change. I'm afraid to send him to school at this point because the teachers only seem to care about the kids that are easy for them to handle. If your child is having emotional problems or academic problems or special needs. This is not the school you want to send them to.

I would not recommend going to this school. They called dcfs on my daughter for having what dcfs itself said was petty and normal shin bruising for a child. I understand they are mandated reporters. I also understand that probably half the children in the school have bruised shins on a daily basis. Ncommunication from

Graduated from peoria academy with several learning disabilities a year or two before the pandemic. I still have nightmares to this date about how those teachers and students treated me due to ny medical conditions. One in particular, made me apologize in front of the whole class for my Tourrette’s. I believe this teacher is still teaching peoria academy. You may make a few friends there, but if you're child has ANY sort of learning disabilities or anything that makes them different, do NOT send your kid here. As an asian-american student, I was subject to racist comments, discrimination, cyberbullying, and more. All while the teachers were aware and chose to do nothing about it.

In my experience, I felt that I was almost targeted when I went there as I was blamed for many things and nobody seemed to just let me be me, if I were sending my kid to a school in the area, this would not be on the list. They also do make up a lot of questionable rules even for the littles things. Lastly I feel that the school really favors girls over boys, when I was at the school, if the girls were being loud in class or saying some really rude things to others, the teachers would let it slide. For boys it was completely different, being that if we were to do one bad thing the teachers would make it a big deal and reslly it made me not want to come back to the school on my last year. Like I said some of the teachers are not the best but there are some that are actually pretty good.

St Vincent’s has always been my home ! My sister was the first baby girl baptized there My kids my grandkids as myself attended church and school there! My children and l even had a few of the same teachers ! I thank God for the blessing of my church and l pray that my children and grandchildren love,believe,and respect and adore ! We’re children are taught at home first then school!

We love this school! It’s small but mighty- the teachers are warm and wonderful.
