"Public transportation is available. Easy access to I 90. There are bike lanes as well. This neighborhood has always been too notch for being able to allow residents to commute to all parts of the Chicagoland area. We also have the metra station next to the Irving blue line. "

"I’ve been here for seven years. It’s a great community for families! Neighbors are friendly and there has been an influx of young families moving into the neighborhood. Close proximity to Portage Park adds motivation to get out and enjoy the outdoors. "

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe’ve had a wonderful experience at Gray! The teachers are dedicated, caring, and truly invested in each child’s growth not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. The communication between school and families is excellent, and it’s clear the staff works hard to create a warm, inclusive environment where students feel safe and supported. What really sets Gray apart is the sense of community. My child looks forward to going each day, and we feel grateful to be part of a place that values education, kindness, and connection. Highly recommend to any family looking for a school that truly puts students first!Parent Review1y ago20 Reviews - Portage Park Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was here for pre k a long while ago and from my experience, the teachers are not great. I had this teacher and she hated me for no reason. I gave her a flower this one time and she got MAD at me! She got mad at me for everything. I moved schools after pre k so yeah. Try to find a different school, especially if you have a bad teacher.Other Review2y ago5 Reviews - Smyser Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average"I just love preschool. I don't know what I would do without my preschool." This is a quote from my four year old on her way home from school today. We love that she is in a school environment where we are confident the teachers and staff care about not only her academic growth and success, but also there to support her social, emotional, and spiritual well being. It's also great to be part of a school that fosters a sense of community among the families they serve.Parent Review4y ago11 Reviews - Midwestern Christian Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLeft the school in 2014 . After Lee left, the following principal drove the school into the ground. While he would castigate Chicago Public Schools, he ended up getting kicked out and bounces a basketball for them now. Talk about irony. A PhD basketball coach! I hope things have turned around.Other Review1mo ago22 Reviews
