My children have been here for a couple of years .. to make it short … I don’t recommend the school. All though my children has had great teachers , the front office(administration) is the real problem here. My children were getting bullied and all types of things . Last year my daughter was being mistreated by a teacher , and guess what that teacher did? Didn’t give my children any awards but she made great grades all year ! Her behavior was great as well in class as far as her soon points received , etc. she literally made a fool out of my child! So at this point, I pray I can get my children somewhere else .. this is just sad all around. I get left in the dark about things concerning my children .. I don’t know about things until they tell me when they come. It’s draining and tiring. I really wanted to like this school because it was recommended to me by a teacher from a previous school.

I have a 10-year-old child who attends Cotton Indian, and he is autistic and has ADHD. Trust me when I say he can be a handful. He used to need constant redirection because of behavior challenges, but the teachers and staff at this school have worked so diligently with him. They took the time to understand his needs, support him, and help him feel settled and more confident. Most days, he comes home excited about what he’s learning, and that alone speaks volumes. He used to struggle with expressing his feelings, but now he feels safe enough to speak his mind. In my experience, the teachers here are respectful, patient, and incredibly supportive, especially Ms. S. Nelms and Mrs. Scott. They consistently motivate their students to learn and grow.I also have a 6-year-old who came to live with me, and this past February was his first time ever attending school. His teacher, Ms. Fleetwood, and her paraprofessional worked with him closely, and within just three months he was making A’s on his spelling tests. Both of my boys are thriving at this school, and I couldn’t be more grateful.Cotton Indian also does a wonderful job supporting students’ mental health and emotional well-being. As a parent, that means everything. I am truly grateful for the dedication and care the staff has shown my children. This school has made a huge, positive difference in their lives.

The first person you come in contact with (if it's during drop off/pick up times) is the school crossing guard.. He is RUDE, loud and announces he works for the Henry County Police Department like that makes him an officer or something.. He does NOT know how to approach people and should NOT have a job working with the school system..... He is VERY confrontational.... Talks to people like their dirt and below him .. He says his name is Wayne Evans. Beware of him until the school system gets rid of him. I spoke with the school, the BOE and the police department. This WAS NOT the first complaint against him.....

My daughter transferred in mid-October after we relocated to McDonough. I was initially apprehensive about changing schools, especially since third grade is such a critical year, but I’ve been very pleased with the curriculum and communication so far.

Small classes, caring teachers, and a community atmosphere.
