My review or MACAMy honest opinion of this school after my interaction with the school’s academic and athletic departments has been rather poor. For me, my experience was not great. The administration remains incompetent, and has a weak relationship with the student body. The handbook’s polices are followed arbitrarily. The student’s voices as well as their families’ voices are rarely heard. And numerous disciplinary decisions made by the board and administration were questionable. The only positive thing I can say about MACA is that the teachers truly do care about their students. They wouldn’t be there earning almost minimum wage to not care about their students. Also I did have special opportunities that I might not have had if I went to a public school. Like having a smaller class and getting to know my classmates better. However, If you are a parent wondering if MACA is right for your child I would “strongly” encourage you to look elsewhere. There are simply better educational opportunities available for your child then Mountain Area Christian Academy. Also do not let the name fool you, “Christian Academy” plenty of the students I met there were not Christians. Some proclaimed atheists. One final thing I will mention is that MACA’s tuition is outrageous. Their scholarships and discounts almost mean nothing. Unless you want to spend a ton of money on mediocre education with limited and minimum extracurricular and college opportunities then don’t go to MACA.
