We hit the jackpot with Whit. We know another family who could be attending Chase Street Elementary, the one with highest test scores, but prefer to keep their kids at Whit. Strong staff have weathered the principal turnover, keeping standards high.

We had experiences in both the primary and lower elementary levels. The main focus of this school is definitely on child development and not academics, which I why I would say it is only beneficial through the primary level. When you start getting into the upper grades the academics is just not up to par with other schools. When my children entered another school, they were behind academically and it was a shock because we trusted AMS academically as well as with our child’s non academic development. I would say responsibility lies with the administration as the teachers are amazing but times have changed and they are still teaching the same way as they have for the last 20-30 years. Past the primary levels children actually need to learn more than life skills at school. I’m grateful for the teachers my children had and know they have the potential for change.
