Chatmire

my child was denied access to a bathroom during lunch, LUNCH. the excuse was " kids play in the restroom" and as a result, my 9 year old had an accident in front of the whole lunch room. when i brought it to the office attention, all they could tell me was " theyre looking into it". If my child was in a classroom, and was told to wait, i might have reacted differently. But to not have access to a bathroom because a teacher cant handle it is beyond. i will be pulling my children out of DES and will be looking for alternative schools

Excellent. I have had a few concerns over the years, but they have been handled quickly and appropriatly by Mrs. Wheat and the teachers. She supports her teachers, but also knows there are two sides to every story. She listens during conferences and helps everyone come to a mutual understanding of what is best for the child. The sports programs are not strong, but they are growing every year. My kids know almost all of the other students from thr nursery to the 8th grade. There is truly a sense of belonging there. My kids are the happiest when they are at DCA!
