"Being on a hill gives us great views of Golden Gate Park, the GG Bridge and the Marin Headlands, and parking isn’t too bad even though we can walk to shops and restaurants."
  • Kelrhend
"I think it’s pretty easy to get just about anywhere in the city via MUNI. also relatively close to the N where I can take BART. I love the relaxed nature of the neighborhood. "
  • Sproutfamily4
"Lots of parks and playgrounds, music together classes, Randall museum classes- clay, robotics, animals. Secret hikes in green belt. "
  • Nikki Frydenlund
"Most of the haight area is lovely, neighborly, clean, and safe. Haight street itself I would never live on but even one away is enough distance. Upper haight, ashbury heights, Cole valley are all pieces of the surrounding area that are so lovely and family oriented. It is generally quiet and people live here for a long time!"
  • Gcpagan
"lots of transients, traffic, noise and poop. Just like any part of the city, be aware of your surrounsings and don't leave anything in your car. "
  • Anastasia T.
"Many options to choose from and very easy to commute to any part of San Francisco: 33, 43, N, 7, 6 are all walking distance."
  • David C.
"I drove to outer Richmond so far the drive is easy while shelter in place is in effect. Will definitely change once they lift SIP rule. "
  • Lydia G.
"The park, the environment, Guss market, street taco make it all fell like home! We love it so much! "
  • David C.
"Not to where I work, I have to walk all the way to Geary to catch the bus.. I work towards the west area pretty much a 30 min walk "
  • Frank G.
"Lots of dogs are being walked. The parks makes a great space for furry family’s or human ones. Most people pick up after their dogs but it’s human waste that becomes a problem. "
  • Leahmtc
"It has a family feel, perhaps due to the number of schools in the area (albeit private). There are a number of families on my street and it has a real neighbourhood feel. Very close to Golden Gate and the Panhandle and near Duboce park too. "
  • Bkranjac
"It is a good neighborhood. You can walk everywhere, schools are good and golden gate park is amazing. "
  • Grisha G.
"One of commute options to downtown is by bike. Bike commute takes 20 -25 minutes along a popular route frequented by many fellow cyclists - so there's safety in numbers in addition to dedicated bike lanes along part of the route. Commute back from downtown has some uphill sections, but still very manageable by SF standards."
  • Sfvilles
"Great family vibe despite all the tourists. Lots of kids playing in front of their houses. Just wish everyone went to the same schools "
  • Wendy T.
"Being on Golden Gate Park is a really really special bonus! The neighborhood is very laid back and still retains its old school vibe despite the gentrification of the great majority of the city now."
  • Matt P.
"Location is central to everything in SF, especially Haight St, Whole Foods, Cole Valley & Golden Gate Park!"
  • Leo B.
"Dog owners will like that it is near Golden Gate Park's Panhandle."
  • Leo B.
"The typical commute to and from my neighborhood is walking or on public transportation."
  • Leo B.
"I think it is very important that parents know that the neighborhood is diverse."
  • Y. R.
"There are numerous dog-friendly parks with places that allow off-leash socializing."
  • Y. R.
"It has historic architecture and fantastic food, and everything is within walking distance."
  • Y. R.
"The commute is relatively smooth, with various options by rail and bus. It takes about 15 minutes to get downtown and 15 minutes to Golden Gate Park."
  • Mira N.
"It's close to Golden Gate Park and Kezar Stadium. Hiking the nearby hills and Twin Peaks is challenging and offers incredible views of San Francisco. The library is quiet, has computers, and sometimes hosts interesting programs and movies."
  • Mira N.
"Commuting downtown from this neighborhood is easy. The N Judah is frequent, and buses #6 and 43 run often as well to other parts of the town."
  • Sasha V.
"Golden Gate Park is very close, which is great."
  • Sasha V.
"There are little shops and lots of fun venues to hang out at."
  • Sasha V.
"It's pretty safe, even though there are lots of interesting characters hanging around."
  • Alexandra
"I've lived in this neighborhood on and off for 3 years and I love it. You feel secluded from urban chaos thanks to the trees and easy park access, with all the walkable amenities and highly-rated burritos you can hope for super close along the Divisadero corridor. There are plenty of public transportation options and you're walkable to great grocery options like Whole Foods, Bi-Rite, Trader Joe's, Target, and more. The best part: endless doggy-watching! I love raising my puppy right on the Panhandle in a community of fellow dog-lovers."
