This school is small, home spun and has its heart in the right place. The biggest flaw was the teacher, staff and student turnover which made a feeling of stability and connection difficult and was disheartening. The place seemed on the verge of collapse year to year. We made good memories, especially from field trips and celebrations. Some teachers were shockingly unprofessional while others gave extra. Academic standards were weak but creative subjects strong. Sports teams and music ed were nonexistent. An upsetting trend of parent/ board member and parent/ staff crossovers made for some favoritism and exceptionism. Funds were used to support the interests and needs of their offspring over everyone, equally as a whole. No one could stop it because it happened below board. We have good key memories and were generally happy but felt disappointed and unappreciated too. The tuition rose significantly year to year but nothing got better. The current politics there favor special needs which isn’t for everyone. This is a DIY school.

My child has been at this wonderful little school for five years now and together we've experienced amazing and dedicated teachers, kind and supportive staff, and a culture that nurtures a sense of community, student mentorship and the whole child. They've had some challenges, of course, not every teacher hired has been the right fit, but overall it's been a fantastic educational experience. My daughter is thriving there and I couldn't recommend a school higher.
