Our experience at PacPoint has been deeply concerning. There has been significant teacher turnover, including teachers leaving mid-year, which has disrupted learning and created instability for students. There have also been instances of teachers yelling at students, contributing to an environment that feels stressful and emotionally unsafe rather than supportive.When parents attempt to raise concerns, the administration has not demonstrated responsiveness or meaningful follow-through. Efforts to communicate issues have not resulted in open or productive dialogue, which has led to a noticeable reluctance among parents to speak up or advocate for their children. This lack of transparency and accountability has eroded trust in school leadership.The principal has not demonstrated effective leadership skills, particularly in communication, problem-solving, and building a sense of trust within the school community. This is reflected in the overall school climate, including the lack of visible connection or approachability between students and school leadership.While small class sizes are often advertised as a positive, families should be aware that they appear to be the result of families leaving the school rather than intentional program design. The continued loss of both teachers and families raises serious questions about stability and long-term sustainability. Prospective families should carefully consider not only current enrollment, but also teacher turnover and how many families choose not to continue on to PacPoint’s junior high.A school should prioritize student well-being, stability, and open communication with families. Unfortunately, those standards have not been met. Many families have expressed that they are waiting for the school year to end before withdrawing their children.
