Acerca de esta Casa

En inglés
Welcome to Catskill. It is a quirky and social village with much to offer. I have owned the building for twenty years and do not have other rental properties, so you are working with a person, not a company. I had updated the place to live in, but I had to move an hour away, so it's been lovingly worked on. It is a historic building with character, and the Village of Catskill is not the City of Hudson, so if you are interested in a local vibe and renting from an individual, read on.

This high-ceiling, two-bedroom, one-bathroom owner's apartment includes heat, trash, water/sewer, and snow removal. You will pay for electricity. All appliances are energy efficient.

The apartment is ideally situated in the heart of the village, just a stone's throw from Hudson, Woodstock, Amtrak, and a mile from the Thruway (exit 21). A large sun porch lets in the morning light, and new energy-efficient windows in the apartment allow ample natural east/west light.

The Main Street apartment is within walking distance of the Hudson River Dutchmans Landing Park, Catskill Creek's kayak launch, Katterskill Creek, and several nature preserves. Enjoy easy access to local restaurants, wine bars, shopping, and scenic waterfront views with east/west facing windows so you have morning and evening sunlight.

Space Updates:
Freshly painted interior
Refinished hardwood floors
Updated electrical systems
Energy-efficient windows
Keyless entry for both front and back doors
Large, enclosed three-season sun porch

Updated Kitchen:
Brand new electric glass-top stove
Brand New French door refrigerator
Dishwasher
Washer and dryer hookup

Included Utilities:
Heat
Water-sewer
Trash removal
Snow removal

This apartment combines historic charm with modern conveniences, offering a comfortable and stylish living space in a vibrant community with easy access to natural beauty.

Pet Policy
Cats are in the apartment upstairs, so it's not the best for those allergic.
One dog is considered case-by-case (small preferred, but a "good dog" will be considered).
Approved pets must have up-to-date vaccinations (for dogs, a current license)

Safety and Health Regulations:
No open flames, including candles and incense (it is a historic structure)
No smoking or vaping in the hall or apartment (no judgment but outside, please).
Illegal substances are strictly prohibited.

Parking:
Free parking is available in the village-maintained lot (they do a great job).
Spaces are not reserved but on a first-come, first-served basis (parking is always available).
An EV charger is in the public lot.

Lease Terms:
One-year lease with option to renew upon signing. Nothing shorter than 6 months will be considered.

Environmental Responsibility:
Proper use of trash and recycling bins is required
Tenants are expected to follow local recycling guidelines
Houseplants in common areas are for the enjoyment of all tenants.

"It’s safe for kids to live here. They can bicycle and play in the neighborhood. Pets friendly. Neighbors are friendly. "
  • Lionel O.
"We don’t commute here. It’s a two hour commute to the city. So if you live here you are either nearby or not working "
  • Usuario de Trulia
"It is a nice neighborhood to walk dogs. People clean up after their pets and are respectful of their neighbors and each other. "
  • Eureka W.
"It’s nice Very quiet neighbors are very friendlyNice area for trick-or-treating and all holidays very festive great restaurants. Need a car though"
  • R.
"Beautiful and idyllic. Really feels like one of the most specials places in the Catskills. There are farmers, people from the city with 2nd homes, hunters, and multigenerational families all living in harmony. "
  • Raybu1960
"I enjoy taking my grandson to the park occassionally. being down by the River is beautiful . I grew within one mile of the River as a child and am comforted by its constancy and tidal nature. and I have seen very large channel catfish caught out of that River . the River of Washington Irving and RIP Van Winkle. I also like the connecting trails to the Monastery and the Cohatr Preserve. I also appreciate the Rams Horn Sanctuary with its small feeder creeks and large tower. Catskill in both rich in history and nature . I will miss it but not NY overall with its exorbitant taxes and rank liberal freedom robbing politics. I cant wait to sell my house and get the heck moving south and west."

  • Frank C.
"Catskill is great but it’s a dying town.. there’s buildings falling apart and stores are closed all over the place and there’s a massive drug problem! It’s great if you like living in a depressed dying town..."
  • Gaby B
"it's a small town which provides a level of intimacy in the community that makes it feel like home. "
  • homeowner
"Plenty of snakes for dogs to eat. Lots of shouting at night and fist fights between college students. Dog's poop shows up well on snow and icy sheets that line our unshovelled sidewalks. A dog park by the river is shady. Plenty of fast food litter in the streets for dogs to eat."
  • Michelle R.
"I’ve lived in this part of Catskill for 1 1/2 years and in the community for 7 1/2 years. It is a good community."
  • Ehd247
