The neighborhood is predominantly residential, with primarily single-family homes that foster a strong sense of community, and is home to many of the students and employees of three highly regarded New York City colleges: St. John's University, Lander College for Men and Queens College. 1 Block from Kissena Blvd; home to various retail stores and restaurants

 Q25, Q34, Q20A, Q20B, and Q44 bus lines provide service north to College Point and south to Jamaica.
 Q46 bus line provides service east to Glen Oaks
 QM1, QM5, QM6, QM7, and QM8 bus lines provide service to Manhattan.
