We are seeking someone to enjoy and care for our home while we are away for a sabbatical in the 2026-27 academic year (Aug/Sep 2026 to May 2027 only). At 1790 square feet, it's ideal for a working couple, small family, or single person. The home will be furnished with two bedrooms and two offices.
The home is both a relaxing retreat and an optimal workspace. Inside, the home is designed to be colorful and sophisticated -- yet cozy while also providing a sanctuary for work and creativity. The spacious, well-supplied kitchen is ideal for both everyday cooking and entertaining, offering ample room to prepare meals with ease. The kitchen opens to a large, welcoming TV/family gathering room and a spacious dining room that is designed for intimate dinner parties or relaxed gatherings There's also a piano for you and/or your guests' enjoyment.
The primary bedroom features an ultra-comfortable king-sized memory foam mattress and sliding glass doors that open directly onto a patio where you'll find an outdoor shower perfect after a swim or simply enjoying the desert air in complete privacy. The second bedroom offers flexibility as both a guest room and a creative space. In addition, the home features two dedicated office or workspace areas, thoughtfully arranged for productivity, focus, and remote work. There is a walk in shower in the newly renovated primary bedroom and a full guest bath off the kitchen.
And what about the great outdoors? From the family room, step outside through a triple French door to enjoy new, professionally designed desert landscaping. The high walls of the backyard enclose a private retreat with a sparkling pool and multiple patios with colorful seating areas and alfresco dining. A finished laundry and storage room is conveniently located just off the back covered patio. The covered front patio is perfect for sitting in the late afternoon as friendly neighbors pass by on their walks. The neighborhood is safe and welcoming, the kind of place where neighbors drop off baked goods to spread good will. It's close to parks, shopping, outdoor activities, and schools. ASU Tempe campus is bikeable - about 5 miles (use of a bike negotiable; I'm a bike commuter myself). Hiking is 15 minutes away; bike or run along the canals just around the corner. The lovely Lakes neighborhood is just a couple of blocks away.

Renter pays gas and electric directly (house, air conditioning, appliances, amenities)
Owner pays internet, regular trash/rubbish removal, weekly pool maintenance, and routine landscape maintenance.
