"Beautiful town, wonderful people and the schools are superb! Lots of parks and neighborhood events and a charming downtown area that is great for the whole family."
  • Donna.tierney3
"Everyone seems to have a dog and walk them often! We’re only allowed 2 dogs in my condo but people who own their own homes often have three and have fenced in yards for dogs to play in. We also have a dog park in Carmel."
  • Sahilrai02
"Carmel is a very spacious and dog friendly suburb. It's great to live here. I would recommend this city! "
  • Nicole &. C. S. .
"Carmel is definitely the best city I’ve ever lived in! It has the most amazing school system and I’ve literally experienced zero crime since being here. I can let my girls walk on the Monon trail throughout Carmel and not worry about them and my eight-year-old can ride her bike up and down our street with no fear of anything happening to her! I would never ever leave Carmel! And neighbors are the best definitely look out for one another! "
  • Lauren A. C.
"Many we’ll maintained walking paths and trails, excellent school district, regular community events, family friendly"
  • AnnaClaire M
"Car required, little traffic, can get most places quickly and easily, no public transit but lots of bike trails, good roads and quick interstate access"
  • Nicole &. C. S. .
"Extremely safe and feel at ease letting my 8yr old play outside ! Never ever had any issues what so ever w crime. Super close to any and everything u could possibly need as far as shopping etc.. the schools are best in the state and teachers are amazing, also right on the monon trail almost anywhere in Carmel u live is a few min walk to the trail which is also very safe ! Our neighborhood has block parties and holiday parties ! Would highly recommend anyone to move here. Only negative is that it’s of course quite costly to live here but I guess if u couldn’t afford it u wouldn’t be here looking into moving here!! "
  • Austin H.
"It’s nice for raising a family. Schools are good. People are nice. It’s clean. I’m not sure what else to say. "
  • Ellie.vaughn528
"My neighborhood is family friendly, with parks, the Monon, and plenty of restaurants and shops. I love it here!"
  • Madison K.
"Great parks and libraries, the best public schools in the Midwest, and very safe community. I would have no issues letting my kids play outside late or biking far distances as this is a very family focused community. Farmers market on weekends. And lots of amazing restaurants and wineries. Also great holiday events and festivals such as forth of July celebrations and annual street art festivals with vendors. "
  • Caleb R.
"quick access to 465 and 31 traffic as usual in the Indianapolis area ................................."
  • Ebony M.
"I moved from Los Angeles; so what they call traffic here is cute! It is a lot of side streets. The main problem is that Hoosiers love to run red lights because of no traffic cameras, it’s annoying. "
  • Hrhcece@sbcglobal.net
"Friendly, lots of kids make it feel family oriented. Neighbors look out for one another. Yards are well kept"
  • Connor H.
"I’ve lived here my whole life. The area is beautiful and a wonderful place to raise a family. 100% recommend you will make amazing memories here."
  • Howard G.
"The traffic is horrible and construction is nonstop. Indy has 1 million people but one beltway around the city that is full of potholes, debris on shoulders, and roadway too small to handle growth and commute from Carmel and Fishers into Indy."
  • Taylor N.
"Born and raised. Great community. A lot of nice people, restaurants and local bars. Fun environment and keeps on growing. Excited to see what it will be like in the next year! Hopefully not anymore roundabouts LOL"
  • Trulia User
"I have lived here for 2 years and love it. everything is conveniently located, it's a family friendly, safe well maintained neighborhood. "

"I have lived in Carmel for 6 years. It is an awesome and safe place to live and raise a family. There are many organized community events planned throughout the year from the year-round Carmel Farmer’s Market, activities in the Carmel Arts and Design district, the holiday Christkindlmarket and winter ice skating at Center Green, there is always something to do."
  • Lopj215
"I love this community it’s very safe . I live close by the Monon trail and I love it . I take my son bike riding and everyone is so kind ... it’s a grate place to raise children ❤️"
  • Ruth C.
