    "Menands has a true village feel. Everyone knows each other and watches out for one another. Kids play tee ball, baseball, and soccer on leagues together. They play outside with their friends while Moms and Dads chat with neighbors. The park is a popular spot with a lovely playground and plenty of room to run. The school is excellent and is K-8 with only about 275 students. You'll love living here!"

My wife and I, along with our 3 children and 2 dogs enjoy all the community events that menands puts on it the park... from a Halloween parade with the fire department.. to the Christmas party and caroling. We feel extremely comfortable and safe from our Great Menands police department and officers who actually take the time to get to know all of the residents of Menands and children. We love Menands so much my wife and I had our wedding in the Menands park."

    "Menands is a small village and has a terrific community life that revolves around the elementary school (K-8, 250 students), the large park with entertainment and picnics year round, and the volunteer fire department. It even has it's own police force, who patrol 24/7, and watch your house when you are away. It is a safe, happy place."
