8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school lack proper teaching to prepare kids for the next grade. The kids are bullies and the teachers have favoritism towards the children. All the African American students face discrimination and it’s known in the community not to attend this school. My child would come home with scratches on her face and they broke her favorite water bottle then lied about it but refused camera footage. The kinder teacher was extremely mean and Im still furious about the situation. They cater to white families and the school has low percentage of diversity.Parent Review7mo ago14 Reviews - John Ericsson Middle School 126

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son enjoyed 6th grade at MS126 and is looking forward going into 7th. The school provides a strong foundation and shows genuine interest in our kids. The principal Mr. Goettleman is absolutely wonderful ! he has made lots of improvements in the school which has turned it around. They offer a lot of exposure to our children providing different programs and activities, and they provide a terrific learning environment with programs in STEM. The school is committed to innovative methods of teaching to help students excel academically and being one of the smaller middle schools in the area they have more one on one time with teachers and better communication in the classroom. The staff and teachers at MS126 show a lot of interest in our kids they connect with students and we appreciate them !Thank you !Parent Review8mo ago4 Reviews - Brooklyn Preparatory High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBrooklyn Preparatory High School is a small school in Williamsburg, with a lot to offer. As a sophomore in this school I can confidently say that this school is full of opportunities, caring staff, and strong school culture. When applying to high schools I had originally put this school towards the bottom, as I was skeptical of some aspects and was not sure if I was ready to accept this school offer. Regardless, as soon as I entered this school, freshman year, I was almost overwhelmed with opportunities – ranging from paid internships, inclusivity clubs, countless AP and dual enrollment courses, paid opportunities in the school, leadership roles, and many sports. Not only did these chances make me fall in love with my school but the staff as well. Each teacher has a genuine passion for teaching and they all truly care for each student. I feel safe and open in all my classes and the community in this school is like no other. This school is full of genuine people too, I have quickly made friends with students of all races, ages, and backgrounds. I am personally very passionate about college and pursuing a career after school, and that is one reason why I am so happy to end up at this school. The college prep that this school offers is unmatched, and so supportive. Each staff member encourages every individual student and pushes them to work harder, do better and be stronger. It is hard to grasp and put into words all this school has to offer but in my personal opinion it is like no other, and no matter who you are I can guarantee there is something here for you.Student Review1y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 686 Lorimer St.

"It’s so gentrified, everything is so expensive. It’s unfortunate this is where I was raised and I can’t even provide that for my kids anymore. "

"The constant building of high rise apartments priced at ridiculous high minimums for terrible and rushed work. Awful people moving in who treat the side walk like a dumpster. Broken glass and dog poop, rats and garbage everywhere. "

We have a fresh market at MCcarren park every Saturday morning from 8-2pm. Lots of lots of restaurants and coffee shops..🥰"
