What Locals Say about Uptown

  • Erika Grieg
"I’ve lived here in LQA/Uptown since late September 2020; and love it here… there’s good food and bars, lots of things going on, Seattle Center is pretty lively, etc."
  • Shaun
"Kraken games at the climate pledge arena, other events at the arena. Ballet if you are into that. "
  • B2zkf6hm72
"Dogs everywhere, which you may like or not like. Great walking routes, up, down, water views, parks. Can run errands with your doggo easily."
  • Travis Bussard
"Decent selection of restaurants and entertainment. Centrally located to other Seattle neighborhoods, although being so close to the arena and relying on Mercer St to get to I5 means most weekends you just end up staying home rather than deal with traffic. "
  • Trulia User
"I live in uptown actually, but I'm close interbay. It's not as pretty as other neighborhoods, but is segregated enough from downtown that you feel safe walking around. It feels like the closest suburban area to Seattle without be suburban."
  • Trulia User
"Most places are accessible by public transit. Some of the hilly areas are tricky in the wintertime. "
  • Daisycolsell
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for a year and it has been great. The neighborhoods in Seattle tend to be very approachable."
  • Kim D.
"Busy and in the city. I would like to know the neighborhoods around ir and where the cheapest place to live."
  • Sakina A.
"Lots of families here . Great for families . Plenty of bars and food places too so it’s never too dull "
  • Rachel M.
"Neighborhood gem Myrtle Edwards park: Big lawns, wide paths, little cove beaches, and 360 degree views of the city and Elliot Bay - a fantastic place for a dog walk."
  • Jessica O.
"Super easy to get around and centrally locates. I have lived here for 2 1/2 years and really like the neighborhood. Really quiet, friendly neighbors, and lots to do. Can walk to the waterfront in less than 10 minutes, or Kinear Park."
  • Mark
"I don’t have kids but kids here would certaintly be exposed to people from all walks of life.Property crime is an accepted part of living here but there is a lot of great things to do "
  • Maddy M.
"Everyone is really friendly towards the dogs, if your dog is shy or anxious then the attention might be over stimulating "
  • Arias c.
"Access to grocery stores, multiple major bus lines, and the proximity to the advantages of downtown make Lower Queen Anne a great neighborhood for young people in Seattle. "
  • Blaine C. H.
"It’s great for living close to work and you can access downtown, cap hill, Ballard, etc very easily "
  • Laurab
"I've lived here for almost a year now, and I can't complain. Lower Queen Anne is convenient to almost everything- short bus ride downtown, has a ton of options for grocery stores, and close to some really cute parks and nice views. I feel mostly safe, and it's quiet for the most part."
  • Nina A.
"I've lived in LQA for a year now and love it. The east side of the neighborhood is clean and quiet with a few charming coffee shops and restaurants (Citizen, Crow). I love the proximity to the freeways, buses, downtown, and other neighborhoods for more entertainment. Though Mercer St can sometimes get packed due to freeway or Seattle Center event traffic, you can easily walk to get where you need within the area. I love it here and want to stay as long as possible!"
  • Kelly P.
"I've lived in Lower Queen Anne for 2 years. Right now new apartment buildings are going up all over this area. It's becoming more and more urban, and not quite as charming. Also the rents are going through the roof! It's a great location. Close to downtown and South lake Union for those who work in those areas it's very convenient. For me it's just not worth the price anymore I'll be moving soon. However, for some people I'm sure the price is well worth it for such a convenient location."
