Read what parents are saying about Bar & Ferg's AcademyThis is my daughter's first year attending Bar and Fergs Academy. I really enjoy taking her to school every morning. She's a Pre-K 2 student. I really appreciate her teacher Mrs. Jones. She's awesome!! She shows that she's concern about her students. I pray that God will continue to bless this facility.
Posted by a parent on 12/15/2014I really like that the school is mostly African American. It teaches kids to be proud of their culture. What I am upset about is the fact that they say they are certified to take the McKay scholorship, but really not. I was told my ESE child was going to get one on one attention due to the small class size. This was not true. The teacher constantly complains about my kid and he is angry because she is "mean" to him. The parents do not get involved as they should. The carpets are gross. If your child is "normal" its perfect.
Posted by a parent on 9/5/2014Bar & Fergs is an awesome school! I like how the children get 1 on 1 attention due to the small class sizes. I went to this Academy when I was young as well as most of my cousins my age. When my daughter is of age she will be attending this school. If you want your children to succeed and get a great education then this is the school for you & your family!

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children were at Spady for 8 years (PK3-5th grade). What I love most about this school is its culture and overall school philosophy. It is very unique for a public school. Montessori schools educate the total child and promote independence. The teachers all truly cared about my childrens's education and individual progress. I have often recommended parents to apply to Spady and will continue to do so.Parent Review1y ago - Pine Grove Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe LOVE Pine Grove! My grandson went from 4th grade Home School, to 5th grade at Pine Grove and it has been nothing less than a wonderful experience for him, his Mom and me.Both my daughter and I are involved in parent/teacher programs and are very impressed with the quality and concern of the teachers, especially with such a diverse student body that often requires translation for Spanish and Creole speaking parents. Moreover, there are regular awards and recognition's for students in a variety of areas including attendance, behavior, academics and athletics. I can highly recommend Pine Grove for parents of any economic classification, rich or poor, as these kids, who get along so well with one another, just want a place to learn, grow and have fun, with a great group of teachers. GO DOLPHINS!Parent Review11mo ago - Orchard View Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe recently transitioned our child to public school and are very happy about our decision. We have found since the move that the academics are more rigorous. Our child has special needs and although we realize that private schools are limited in what they can accommodate, we have found since our child’s transition that the accommodations previously in place were not being carried out with fidelity.Since we have moved our child to public school we have also come to realize that the concerns presented to us as parents were most likely not an accurate representation of what was occurring in the classroom. Our priority as parents is to ensure we are making the most informed decisions on how to best help our child succeed. We found that the school was not communicative or transparent as it pertains to student behavior and academics.Had we realized the amount of additional support our child needed early on, we would have made the decision to switch sooner. We will always look back fondly on the many faith based events and weekly school Mass.In time we hope that St. Vincent and the Diocese can work together to better accommodate students accepted with disabilities to make a more inclusive environment.Parent Review3w ago - Trinity Evangelical Lutheran CHRCH of Del Ray BCH
