Read what parents are saying about S. D. Spady Elementary SchoolMy children were at Spady for 8 years (PK3-5th grade). What I love most about this school is its culture and overall school philosophy. It is very unique for a public school. Montessori schools educate the total child and promote independence. The teachers all truly cared about my childrens's education and individual progress. I have often recommended parents to apply to Spady and will continue to do so.
Posted by a parent on 2/2/2023It is a small school, which is what I love the most about it. Everyone knows everyone. The school give us a family feeling. Everyone cares for one another. My child loves this school. The principle is very kind and cares for each child wellbeing. Also, the school is very safe. No one goes in or out how they pleased. Academically, my child’s teacher helps quite a bit my child. For what I have seen some of the homework are a bit advance for my child, so I have to help my daughter. But there is always someone willing to help my daughter out when she asked. Overall, Spady is a wonderful school with a loving, safe and caring environment.
Posted by a parent on 1/25/2023Listening to my sons conversation of how important school is and how eager they are to go every morning is proof enough that we are where we can grow. I say we because it is not just a learning experience but family oriented.
Posted by a parent on 1/12/2023My daughter started in pre-K3 and she has enjoyed time with her teachers and her peers! The admin and staff are very helpful and they are great at communicating with parents/families about what’s happening at school.
Posted by a parent on 1/12/2023My daughter attended S.D. Spady from pre-k3 through 5th grade. She has always felt like Spady is home. She loved her teachers. She was well prepared for middle school and was very successful in middle school due having a strong foundation to build on.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are many reasons I've seen that show this school doesn't care about the students safety and when you voice your concerns nothing is done about it, teachers are either stupid or don't care about anything other than getting paid, one of my kids kept getting back another student's school work back so who knows if my child even received accurate grades. They let the same parents pick up their children from school early EVERYDAY when we all told during an assembly that doing that is considered an absence and can get you kicked out of the school yet I've been seeing the same parents pick up their kids early daily since last year.Parent Review7mo ago - Pine Grove Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe LOVE Pine Grove! My grandson went from 4th grade Home School, to 5th grade at Pine Grove and it has been nothing less than a wonderful experience for him, his Mom and me.Both my daughter and I are involved in parent/teacher programs and are very impressed with the quality and concern of the teachers, especially with such a diverse student body that often requires translation for Spanish and Creole speaking parents. Moreover, there are regular awards and recognition's for students in a variety of areas including attendance, behavior, academics and athletics. I can highly recommend Pine Grove for parents of any economic classification, rich or poor, as these kids, who get along so well with one another, just want a place to learn, grow and have fun, with a great group of teachers. GO DOLPHINS!Parent Review11mo ago - Village Academy On The Art & Sara Jo Kobacker Campus

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnity School is a warm and welcoming environment for all the children. Unity encourages students to embrace others and their differences. That alone allows students to learn at their own pace and explore unconventional ways of learning. I appreciate the expertise of Unity's faculty and teachers and respect their ability to guide students to achieve the best attitude and camaraderie that carries into life outside of school.Other Review1mo ago - St Vincent Ferrer School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe recently transitioned our child to public school and are very happy about our decision. We have found since the move that the academics are more rigorous. Our child has special needs and although we realize that private schools are limited in what they can accommodate, we have found since our child’s transition that the accommodations previously in place were not being carried out with fidelity.Since we have moved our child to public school we have also come to realize that the concerns presented to us as parents were most likely not an accurate representation of what was occurring in the classroom. Our priority as parents is to ensure we are making the most informed decisions on how to best help our child succeed. We found that the school was not communicative or transparent as it pertains to student behavior and academics.Had we realized the amount of additional support our child needed early on, we would have made the decision to switch sooner. We will always look back fondly on the many faith based events and weekly school Mass.In time we hope that St. Vincent and the Diocese can work together to better accommodate students accepted with disabilities to make a more inclusive environment.Parent Review3w ago - Trinity Evangelical Lutheran CHRCH of Del Ray BCH
