Read what parents are saying about National Presbyterian SchoolNPS is a special place that focuses on your child developing as a whole person through a loving community, character building, and strong academics. We have loved the experience and feel privileged to be a part of it! Thanks to the Head of school and deliberate efforts by the administration, it is becoming much more diverse and we see this in both our children’s classes where more that 60% of the students are people of color.
Posted by a parent on 6/23/2021NPS is overall an excellent preschool/elementary school. The school also has a really nice parent community that makes the school life happy and pleasant for students and parents alike. We are really happy about NPS, and my son is really thriving there.
Posted by a parent on 9/30/2019We have been at NPS for almost 4 years now and feel so incredibly fortunate that our son is part of such a warm, nurturing and loving community. He absolutely adores all his teachers. In addition to the gifted loving homeroom teachers, he has numerous specials teachers (music, drama, PE, spanish, library, etc) who all know and geninely care for him. Why are we at NPS? 1) My son is so very happy there 2) Spanish teacher is amazing and spanish is taught beginiing in kindergarten. 3) The reading and math programs are evidenced based. The school has reading and math specialists overseeing and teaching those programs and the children are broken in to small groups (4-5) children where wonderful learning occurs. 3) Small class sizes. 4) Solid evidenced based curriculum 5) Talented and Gifted faculty and staff 6) Mr Neill, the School Head is absolutely wonderful 7) After school program is unbelievably accomodating and staffed with top notch individuals and programs.. If you have something come up, you just call and your child is taken care of . 8) Parents Association hosts numerous events throughout the year. I could write so much more but out of characters.
Posted by a parent on 2/8/2013We have two daughters at NPS with a combined 15 years of schooling and we could not be more thrilled. With a very deliberate focus on elementary education, the school gives kids a great foundation. It is above all warm and nurturing. All the teachers are first rate and incredibly dedicated and caring. Everyone is approachable and responsive and the sense of community is quite heart-warming. We love that they really live the core values of Love, Honesty, Respect, Safety and Responsibility. Our girls, while very different, have both thrived academically and socially. It has been a second home for our family and we will be sad to move on! If you are considering private schools, we highly recommend NPS. It is indeed a very special place.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBased on our recent personal experience and conversations with some of the parents, Eaton Elementary is not best suited for children with special needs. Evaluations were taking a long time; there were examples of special needs children being bullied by their peers, and the LEA Representative was often inaccessible. I must say that we had a wonderful experience with other children and parents. The occupational therapist was great, very devoted, and S&L therapist and psychologist were fine too. On the opposite side of the spectrum, there was shockingly unethical behavior of the general education teacher and LEA Representative, which should have led to a disciplinary action. It is unfortunate that such unreliable persons found their place in Eaton.Parent Review1y ago - Janney Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe best school in DC BY FAR! Every single one of the staff members are very engaged with all of the students. They recognize and know each and every student by name. They foster and nurturing loving environment to make all new students and current students feel welcomed and heard /seen. They operate that if a private school so there are so many programs and courses before and after school for the children. They are learning at such and accelerated rate that my 5 year old who has never been to school has already learned how to read in a matter of months. They teach social studies, math, reading, writing anything you can imagine you name it to their kindergarteners. Imagine what is being taught to the upper level grades. They do not miss a beat on informing parents and keeping us up to date with what goes on at school. They are very transparent and interactive and available whenever you need them. There’s just so much good to say about this school I’m absolutely in love with the environment. I’ve seen nothing but kindness from all students. No bullying everyone is very supportive of one another which I love! Another great thing is that students who are struggling a little in a subject are taken out of class and into McAllen groups to help keep them ahead with their peers in whichever lesson they might be needing xtra work on instead of not caring and letting them fall behind.Parent Review1mo ago - Hearst Elementary School
