5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are new to CWM for the 2022-23 school year. We transferred in mid-year. We have a second grader who is extremely shy and has lots of worry & gets very nervous. Adriana, from the front office team was our first contact & was so kind and welcoming. She was extremely organized and responded to my many questions so quickly when I emailed. She helped us gather all the necessary information for starting out and connected us with our Teacher, Mrs. Taylor along with the Principal, Mr. Mitchem and Counselor, Ms. Medina. The communication from all of them was top notch! And there is not enough space to write about Mrs. Taylor. She one of the best teachers we have ever partnered with! She communicated with us from the get-go to understand our child and situation and is so helpful in providing us with links/directions/answering questions, etc. Our child has come to absolutely love her in such a short time!I appreciate that the Principal is hands on vs. a watch from afar! He is at the gate many mornings welcoming students and knows so many of their names. As I understand it he is only in his second year here. That made it more impressive that he knows so many of the students and reflects that he is in fact out and about in classrooms and engaged with the students. The District has also instituted a position called a Community Liaison at the campus'. Mrs. Jackie who is at CWM has also been an integral part of welcoming us to the school and interacting with our child in such a positive way! Seeing her smiling face meeting us at the gate the first few days was so helpful!I am lover of reading and was so excited to see the library on campus! It's got so many books and fun little spots for the kids to get comfy and read. All of our interactions with staff and teachers so far has been honestly so much better than we expected. We have been in Menifee for many years and knew that the "talk" wasn't great about CWM. Our experience has been completely the opposite!I rated 4 vs 5 stars because of things that aren't necessarily due to the schools fault. For example, the campus is very small and also quite old. They seem to be bursting at the seems in regard to room and there is much that looks like could be done to update the campus. This is a district issue of course but does keep it from a 5 in my thoughts. For everything else, it takes us, as parents getting involved & engaging to help the spirit of a school.Parent Review1y ago - Freedom Crest Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been such a blessing. The teachers and staff greet my son by name, they are very supportive of my son and communicate openly. I trust my son is in good hands when he is in school. The school is patriotic and supports veterans and their kiddos, I couldn’t recommend this school enough.Parent Review1y ago - Evans Ranch Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is unfair to judge the performance of over twenty teachers based on the comments of one. The teachers at Romoland work very hard and put in long hours in order to provide a quality education for their students. Also, I would suggest there's nothing wrong with a fifth grade teacher wanting to teach 5th graders fifth grade skills. The truth is the majority of 5th graders at Romoland are a SOLID two years behind their peers across California. A REAL fifth grade class is one where 21 out of 25 students are reading at a 4th/5th grade level, NOT one where 2 out of 25 are reading at grade level while 11 are reading/comprehending at a 1st/2nd grade level and 12 are reading at a third grade level! A REAL fifth grade class is one where 21 out of 25 students know their multiplication tables (a 3rd grade skill), NOT 2 out of 25. A REAL fifth grade class is one where the majority of students practice the skill of responsibility by completing and returning homework everyday, understanding that practice is necessary in order to move forward. Students don't get to fifth grade knowing how to read but being unable to read because they haven't been taught, but because once the bell rings at the end of the day many of them don't give another thought to school until the following morning when the bell rings to enter the classroom. A teacher can listen to every single student read every single day, but unless a student practices reading at home his/her progress will be painfully slow. While all students want to do well, those who do well are those who take responsibility for their learning by practicing at home the skills they learn during the day, and they should be able to move forward at a 5th grade level, not be held back because the majority of students do not practice at home!!!! The summer before last the school library was open all summer so students could go and read and check out books to take home to read. Nine families out of over 300 took advantage of this. NINE!!! Teachers become teachers because they care about learning and they care about children. It's frustrating for them when students don't do what they need to do in order to move forward. I don't see telling students that a teacher wants to teach REAL fifth graders as bullying, I see it as, "You're as smart as every other 5th grader in California. PROVE IT!!"Parent Review7y ago - Mesa View Elementary School
