7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBack when I attended this middle school the vice principal (Kevin Maldonado) was a complete and utter bully. It was almost as if he got a kick out of harassing students, for the most minute circumstances. Looking back, I wish I would have said something while it was happening. But, when you're that age you're unaware of the difference between proper, appropriate discipline and flat out harassment and intimidation tactics. Come to think of it, I do not ever remember a single positive or encouraging statement coming from this man. Mind you, I was a honor student and a well known athlete on multiple sport teams. However, every experience I had with this vice principle was completely awful. I just wish that, not only me, but all students who fell victims of his inappropriate and unnecessarily harsh forms of "discipline" knew what we know now. Maybe then, he would no longer be apart of the HLPUSD district. I gave a three star review because my teachers, for the most part, were amazing.Parent Review1y ago - Palm Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teacher support provided to its students is quite excellent in helping to acheive academic excellence. Administration and supervision is always seen around campus in provding protection and discipline if needed. Parent involvement appears to be average to above average. Unfortunately, I gave the school 4 of 5 stars because for the last three years I've attempted to have my son enrolled in their afterschool program ISIS . We were supposed to be given priority since he was on their waiting list; not the case. The school offers limited additional support to working parents if they don't get in to ISIS. "Just recently moved in a month ago. Everyone is talking care of their lawns, planting trees, and remodeling their homes. It's very quiet and peaceful. On a sunny day, people would walk their dogs. Great place to be since it's a hop and skip away from everything!"
