Great school!Teachers are amazing and really care about the students.

This school is so great for kids. Very supportive staff that wants the best for our students.

This school is terrible because its students are not held accountable for their actions. The students hate on people different from them. Homophobia, transphobia, racism, and other hateful things come from these students, yet the school seems to not care. The Associated Student Body only made a post declaring that they "denounced" homophobia, transphobia, or biphobia, but they did not say what they were going to actually do about it. On Mondays, the students learn about things such as saving money and changing a tire, but these topics are negligible and trivial when compared to the constant hate that spreads within the school environment. The school knows this yet they don't teach the students about how to be respectful to others and everyone's differences. Overall, this school just does not actually hold its students accountable, even though they said that they do, and they waste a class period to teach the students about negligible topics while students are in constant fear that they will be the target of another hateful student.

My experience at this school was very joyful and I had a quality education. This is due to the teachers and their expressed care for students. Also, there is counseling and group sessions for those struggling emotionally. Study sessions are also popular around AP and final exams as well to allow students to seek help and feel comfortable around these stressful times.

I'm currently a senior at Los Altos, and I must say that I had a great experience at this school. I may not have been one of the top students at this school, but I managed to keep my grades in check while still going out to parties and hanging out with friends. This school helped me grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Looking back at my four years at this place, I realized how much I've grown up and also changed for the better. The teacher quality is great, if you take the right classes. Of course, every school has their sub-par teachers, and phenomenal teachers. And in my personal experience, the teachers here were wonderful. I may have had a few duds, but for the most part, they kept me inspired, and guided me in my life beyond stone cold academics. They helped me grow emotionally and socially as a young adult. Los Altos may not be the "perfect" school, but it is exactly those imperfections that made this school such an interesting and amazing experience. It wasn't just school, it was a home. I am proud to graduate from Los Altos, and I am proud to be a Conqueror, and a future UCR student. Thank you, Los Altos High School Once a Conqueror, Always a Conqueror.
