4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNorth Shore Elementary is an excellent school. The PTA is extremely active and really helps to support the teachers and give them resources to aid their classrooms. This really is a community school. There is a ton of parent involvement, plenty of volunteer opportunities and many events going on so you really get a chance to meet and get to know the other kids and families that attend the school. They offer a bunch of after school classes and the PTA offers scholarships so that all kids can attend. The principal and vice principal are great. They are always available to parents and are quick to respond to emails/phone calls. All of the teachers I have interacted with have been amazing. They all really care about the kids and do what is best for all of them. The teachers seem to know most if not all of the kids at the school, even if they are not in the same grade. I love that everyone seems to know everyone. My kid has been at the school for 3 years and I have not had any issues. Communication is great from the teachers/administration to the parents. The school offers so much support for many different areas/needs. If you need something, just reach out and you always get a quick response. The school focuses on making sure each child gets an education that is suited for them. If they struggle in something, there will be help available. Same if they excel in certain areas. The teachers really work with the kids to get them where they need to be. It is a smaller school compared to some of the other local schools. Uniforms are required, which I think is a plus. There is before and after care offered on site at the school. There is an ASD program for all grades. The school also offers PreK3 - 5th grade. Overall I think this is a great school and I couldn't be happier with it. He has made friends here that have developed into friendships that carried into young adulthood. "I often see people walking their dogs without a leash, which is not ok for other dogs or people. A few dogs have Run out in to he road and a few dogs have shown up at our house during the wee hours of the morning. Dangerous for the pups. "

"Urban neighborhood going through a revival. Very walkable with dense population of historic bungalows. A lot of young professionals are moving here due to the close proximity to downtown as we’re the first neighborhood north of it. Lots of people walking their dogs and riding their bikes. Very active neighborhood association "

"There aren’t too many families in the area that I’ve seen but it is very close to Crescent Lake. There are a lot of kids in the Euclid St Paul neighborhood, which is very close."

"I hate to say this, but there are several sexual predators in this area. St. Vincent de Paul is 3 blocks from where I live, so there are people from there who come around and go behind the large trash cans across my alley to urinate."

"I have no idea. I never go walking in my neighborhood, excect to go to Walgreen's and Save-a-Lot grocery store. I DEFINITELY DON'T go past my front porch at night...too nervous!!"
