What Locals Say about Charles Town

  • E J Petty
"This is a very dog friendly neighborhood. People walk the dogs all the time. However, sometimes they don’t pick up after their dogs in common areas or seldom there is a pile in my yard."

"Large lots and low traffic on the roads. Large, dog friendly park five minutes away. Mountain trails and C&O canal provide other safe pretty places to take a walk. "

"Becoming more of a DC commuting area but still has a good rural feel to the people and area. If you want strict zoning and harsh HOAs stay in the city. Your neighbors here mind there own business and want you to mind yours. However they are kind, will help out in a second and are open minded. "

"I have lived in this neighborhood for 21 years, and it is unique in that for the state of WV it is an upscale neighborhood. In fact the whole Eastern Panhandle is upscale compared to the rest of the state. "

"Everyone pretty much stays to themselves, very quiet even though it’s tons of kids. Not much to do in the area, schools are just okay. Main thing going for the area is cost of living is affordable. "

The location of the neighborhood provides various routes to Northern VA, Winchester VA, Frederick, MD. Only 15 minutes to I-81 in Martinsburg WV and 30 minutes from Frederick, MD. Ample hiking and nature trails and activities. Great area!!"
