Compton High School is somewhat to blame but some goes to Walton Junior High School - I wasn’t prepared for High School but like Walton Jr. High helped some. It is US Army time at 17; it was a good move for me hands down. I grew up fast and I matured too with all the responsibilities offered to me in the army - 13 years of active duty army, and it is here that I received my high school diploma in 1975 in the army now! You can still achieve a goal even when the school is dropping the ball, not to educate you. At age 70, I received my Bachelor of Ministry degree plus I received a GPA of 4.0 (2 schools first 3.7 GPA; second 4.0). 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child was held down in the middle of the cafeteria and two oversized kindergarteners pulled her pants down and inappropriately touched her. Nobody saw her but the children around her that helped her get away from the two children that touched her. I was notified after the school day ended and they brushed it under the rug when I brought it up to administrators. I pressed for an report to be made and never was given one. I also had a meeting with the principal and my child was blamed since she has behavior issues and was currently fighting to get into special Ed. Pulled her out of the school the same day and my child still has nightmares about the interaction with those children to this day. Please be cautious with your young black children. "We have a food drive/giveaway every Saturday on the corner of 139th Street and Wilmington. Other than that, we really don’t normally have anything g going on in this city other than people on dirt bikes and the motorcycles going back and forth very very loudly."
