2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy sister went here for a year. The emotional trauma she went through from the students themselves and at the hands of the staff affected her for the rest of her middle school years. She is special needs and her teachers did absolutely nothing for her. They would give her packets printed off of Google and would never answer her questions or show her the lectures on subjects. Students would attempt to throw water on her hearing aids and staff never attempted to discipline them. Don’t bring your child here.Other Review1y ago - Susan Miller Dorsey Senior High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's an OK school some of the teachers care about the students others are just there for a check if your child gets bullied on the regular don't bother telling the Deans they will do nothing about it sometimes the Deans will do something about students being bullied sometimes they won't and this school is known for having fights. And you have to pass the Cahsee test in order to graduate even if you meet the graduation requirements you still have to pass the Chasee test .bodajaiOther Review7y ago - Hillcrest Drive Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageYes, it is a 1 out of 10 star school but it's turning around! A new principal took over in 2021-2022 and she has made great strides in improving the school environment and education. She can only do so much though. The larger problem is the parents of this community. They don't care enough to nurture their children's education at home so when they're in class the teachers have to teach at remedial levels to cater to children falling behind due to poor English or just general educational neglect at home. The children who should be in advanced studies or GIFTed programs get held back by these other students for whom their parents don't make enough effort to help them. This school has the potential to be above 6-7 stars and the teachers and staff really, TRULY do care about the students. But again, there's only so much that can be done without the help of parents. Personally, the only reason I'm thinking of pulling my child out is because there aren't enough resources available to him to teach at a more advanced level that I think he can handle. I just want him to be challenged more. Otherwise, the kids are all very supportive and friendly towards him. He loves Hillcrest, his peers, & the staff.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 4565 Don Milagro Dr.

"I've lived here for about three years now.I like that I was only about a fifteen minute walk from the metro station and ten minutes or less from two major grocery stores. getting around and doing things was still pretty simple even before I got my car because of this. also there's great culture in the crenshaw and Leimert park area. music, food and black owned businesses are thriving here and I love the convenient location"

"I drive. It's FAIRLY close to major freeways, i.e. the 405, 10, and 110. Traffic is typical LA congested. Neighborhoods you have to drive through to get to the 110 and 10 freeways are frightening and leave you praying to God that you don't break down before getting on."
