Yes, it is a 1 out of 10 star school but it's turning around! A new principal took over in 2021-2022 and she has made great strides in improving the school environment and education. One of the teachers allowed his aide to bring her son to class. I witnessed how she disciplined her child, and it was not appropriate for the classroom environment. Good. The school is getting better. There are new programs like Rites of Passage for the 5th grade boys and girls. The school has a counselor, a restorative justice teacher, and a nurse who is at school 4 days a week.

The biggest problem at this school is the racial segregation from the community that gets reflected at this school. The majority of staff is African American leaving many Hispanic parents in able to communicate,understand, and be a part of. Several times Hispanic parents have been told to leave the
