7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is a, you know, different kind of person. He’s flamboyant and usually he loves talking to people. Recently, ever since he joined DHS he’s been more and more ‘conforming.’ He stopped his rainbow sketchers, started using gel in his hair, began wearing basketball shorts during the winter, and wanted to ‘dab’ me up. I don’t understand many of the things he does now. I’ve emailed the school multiple times and I’ve gotten ZERO response back. I’ve heard him cry in his room multiple times due to bullying and harassment. His homework seems overflowing. He cannot get it done in the time he is given. Some kids in the drama club want him to join due to him being in choir. He was in lights crew once and also acted, he told me that his role was great yet the students made fun of him. I’m proud and all but seriously… Why do the students here just hate eachother? One teacher… I will not name names… strives to be ‘progressive’ in her teaching. Yet, she yelled at my son for having a rainbow Joey Graceffa backpack on the first day. Ever since then, he has been wearing his sisters old grey backpack. I want my kid to feel included. There is another instance where he wore his cat ears to the Club he was in, and then he got beat up by kids. They called him a furry and said that he will not become a real animal in his next life. Who teaches their kids to be so hateful to another minor? My son has been changing so much over the course of his years in DHS. I’m considering pulling him out. Do not go here…Parent Review1y ago - Creekside Intermediate School

"It’s small town charm, we have a bunch of great local businesses and a community of friendly people. "

"Dexter is a beautiful community filled with people anxious to maintain the values of small town life. We are a stone's-throw from Ann Arbor and other larger communities for those interested in other amenities. My children are safe to walk home from school and hang at the DQ in the same manner I did as a kid. That's important to me. I don't have bars on my windows or worry about drive-by shootings. Not much goes on in Dexter, and that's what I like about it."
