I found Bates to be a warm and welcoming environmental where all the staff knew my child by name. It is not an extremely large and overwhelming school, perfect for young children.

I appreciate that the school is teaching children to be healthy by playing outside often (2-3 recesses per day),does not use food rewards, and discourages sweets for celebrations. The curricul
Posted by a parent on 1/27/2014my daughter has 28 students in her second grade class, some have 30. The teachers do the best they can but class size demands are out of control and projected to get worse. If I were moving I would want to know 30 students per class is the acceptable norm in Dexter.

Bates is great. The entire is staff is friendly, positve and all seem to be looking out for all the kids in the school. It has a very relaxed, homey feel.

They went here from kindergarten to first grade before we were forced to move from the outrageous slurs said to him by the teachers and the principle.
