6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJust an overall awful school old outdated underfunded inexperience principal. The principal is the reason why the school is 6 out of 10.He has no business being a principal since he supports.Students over teachers and teachers become burned out. Unsupported, And miserable. This then translate to your students. I worked here for a long time. And couldn't wait for the day to get out what a mess. Many fights in the assistant principles for the most part are just dumb.Teachers that have been promoted really a terrible leadership and the Large turnover clearly exemplifies how bad the leadership is.Other Review1mo ago - Northwest Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Fowler/Sulkowski team teaching team for kindergarten is excellent! Earlier in the year at a different school, the teacher reported that my son had a lot of trouble paying attention and focusing to learn, but he experienced none of those problems when we moved to Northwest halfway through the year. He hadn't changed - the teachers and the school did. Our experience here was top notch.Parent Review7y ago - Highlander Way Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe came to this school from out of state and our kiddo had a rough time transitioning. The staff, teachers, and other kids were welcoming, kind, and really helpful. All adults in the school communicated very well with me, let me know how his days were going, where he was struggling, and had great ideas for how to help and get him acclimated. It took a little while and a lot of effort, but with the unwavering support of staff, teachers, and parents of other students, my kid is now thriving and doing so great. His younger sibling will be starting at HWMS next year and we couldn't be happier. I had heard in previous years that the school was struggling, but in my experience over the last two years, everyone has gone above and beyond. I know when things are happening in the community, know when things are happening in the school, and if there are any emergencies in the school I will find out about it that day because of the emails and phone calls that go out. It really is a great school, there are great teachers, and I believe my kids are getting a great education. Please keep in mind, this is a middle school... middle school is a difficult transition for kids! It was AWFUL for me, personally, so I get it. I know kids don't always want to go and there's always a lot more going on than just being in class. I will say, my kid has been way more interested in school this year than he has been in quite some time. As a parent, I'm a fan of HWMS.Other Review10mo ago - Check out schools near 216 N State St #17.
