6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have my two children at this school and my experience has been nothing short of exceptional! Principal and staff keep parents engaged. The after school program is amazing! My son made so much progress this year in his reading and writing. COVID-19 made it difficult for social interactions with other kids, but since fully re-opening, my son has been able to make friends and return to social normalcy.Parent Review1y ago - Thomas Starr King Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSome kid brought a gun to school once and the administration didn't find out until the end of the day, some kid brought a knife to school, and there was a lock down in October of 2022. There are also a lot of kids who do drugs and vape in the bathrooms.Student Review5mo ago - John Marshall Senior High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son began 9th grade at John Marshall last year, initially, things went well, but then he was bullied, and the school knew but didn't inform us. This year, he's still being bullied by the same family, and the school hasn't acted. The staff is overwhelmed, and my son's education is suffering. He's struggling because he has to worry about self-protection and can't focus in an unhealthy social environment. Recently, a student's mother even had to intervene in the courtyard.Parent Review5mo ago - Check out schools near 2148 Clifford St.

"Echo Park might be the last egalitarian neighborhood in LA. Working class, hipsters, artists, professionals, Latinos, Caucasians, Asians, African Americans, Gay, Straight, dog lovers, kids, old, young.. I see all of them every day here. Echo Park is funky, artsy and a little rough around the edges. And what other LA neighborhood has TWO great parks (Echo Park Lake & Elysian Park).."
