4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has been a real lifesaver. We are informed about when things are happening at school. The teachers are extremely supportive as long as students are willing to do their part. We really appreciate the fact we have an JROTC program. We have meetings once a month that encourage parent involvement, all you have to do is show up and choose to participate. Students have mental health resources available. There are parent teacher conferences held quarterly so one can be aware of what’s going well and what areas one’s student needs help or just needs to step up one’s efforts. The workload is cumbersome when a student chooses to use their classroom time unwisely. Most teachers put their heart into teaching here at Edgewater ; it’s up to students to do their part. The school is proactive in its discipline policy. Most students comply due to this fact. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn 2009 I submitted a very favorable review; I must express my deepest concerns however, at the present time. There has been a changeover of principals and new policy changes have taken the school from its former policy of being open to parents and the community, to shutting the school away from parents and forbidding their presence on the campus. The morale is very much lower than it was; the staff is still very dedicated but I don't think they are being helped and given the support they need by the current administration. It is sad to see this little community school turned into hard, cold, county school!Parent Review12y ago

"I’ve lived here for two years. People are friendly there is no crime and I feel safe when I go running alone very early in the morning and late at night. It’s clean and I have never had a package stolen from outside my door. I wish every neighborhood was this safe ! "

"There is not enough grass for dogs to walk and no where on the property for pets to run and play. Apt bldg has lot's concrete parking but not enough land. The owners do not always pick up after their pets and part of the reason is dog bag stations are not easily accessible, they are quite a distance away. The upside is we have elevators which is helpful for the senior dogs if you live above first floor. The dogs are leashed and owners communicate if their dog if friendly or not. There are parks in driving distance to walk your dig on a leash. Lakes/ parks are clean and dogs love all the smells. Dogs are leashed at the park; its a safe environment."
