4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall, New Dorp is a good school. Most people there are nice. However, the school does not give the necessary information on gradation requirements. Not many people know that 100 hours of community service is needed to graduate. I did not know either until someone told me. All they said was 44 credits are a requirement. The school should tell you that service hours are mandatory. There are students in 11th grade who do not know about the hours. I mean no harm in this review, I just wanted to bring awareness to this. This school has been working hard on the extra curricular activities including principal book club, test prep for my third grader. Hiphop classes!! "I liove the atmosphere in this area. It’s friendly & well kept. My daughter goes to ND high school so the commute is perfect. She can take the train or the bus. Both are so close. My current landlord is selling so I am looking to move. This place would be absolutely perfect for me & my daughter. I’m hoping it’s still available. All the stores are clean & there’s plenty of great restaurants in the area "
