Overall, New Dorp is a good school. Most people there are nice. However, the school does not give the necessary information on gradation requirements. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is welcoming to a majority of students, but does not do their due diligence for students with disabilities. There is either investors, or majority of parents, or something that keeps this school particularly from keeping them coming to terms with the idea that special education is not something to be ashamed of and or making parents of special needs children feel the need to work extra hard to explain their child's circumstances. Teacher's, staff, and a majority of schools since 2013 have been updated on general knowledge of autism and that there are various forms and how broad it is. To have to make parents get advocates for their children due to lack of knowledge at a school is concerning. If we have to ban peanuts, why is it so unusual to have safe spaces for children who become I overstimulated. Many schools recognize this concept, PS 41 does not.
