"Love the amount of dogs here. Dog owners aren’t the friendliest. People do usually pick up after themselves. "

"Extremely safe a family oriented neighborhood . Anyone who loves in the area has a familiar face. No one drives fast through the neighborhood "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 33 years, and it's a wonderful place to live with lots of trees, families, dogs oh, and more. It's a 5-minute walk to the waterfront parks, and a 10 minute walk to downtown, with restaurants, museums, the new pier and lots of shops."

"There are many other dog lovers in the area. Most dog leash their dogs. There’s a lady who has a really old lab who walks without a leash but so well behaved. Definitely recommend for dog owners. "

"Best location to St. Pete highlights- downtown, the bay, Central, art, fairs, museums, restaurants, and every convenience."

"There’s no parking or yard space! it’s also flood evacuation zone A. If you have kids and a dog, I wouldn’t recommend buying anywhere in a flood zone. Google pinellas county evacuation zones- you will see parts of st Pete where property is available to purchase outside of the flood zones. These are located on the disston ridge, which is a much better investment in property considering the risk of sea level rise we are facing over the next several decades as you raise your family."

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for six years, it’s incredible! One can walk downtown to restaurants, bars, nightlife, to the bay, and all the parks, to the pool, the movies. Nearly everything you’d want to do here is easily walkable!"

"Short walk to downtown. Easy drive alternatively. Best commute I’ve ever had. Another alternative is my home office in the pool cottage ..."

"Terrific safe neighborhood for kids. Tree lined streets with sidewalks and people drive slowly through the neighborhood, partly because of the speed limit but also because the brick streets (beautiful) slow people down. Easy commute to Shorecrest Prep. Close to the parks on the bay (beach, tennis, pool, ball fields) and Crescent Lake on the other side of 4th St. All this and is isn’t the ‘burbs, but rather a cool urban community with diversity. "

"My fiance and I got lucky and recently bought a great fixer-upper in Old NE. For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to live in this neighborhood and I finally do. I can't recommend it highly enough. We are young (still in our 20s) and although we are the youngest on the block by a couple of decades, I definitely get the sense that the area is slowly becoming infused with younger generations. However it's very family-friendly, and overall consists of a great mix of generally nice, neighborly people. Cab rides to and from downtown are about $6, which makes participating in Downtown's nightlife easy and affordable. Northshore Park is beautiful, with tons of options for outdoor activities, and I almost always see dolphins when I'm down there. There's also a boat ramp nearby. Lately there have been so many things (concerts, markets, events, etc.) going on in St. Pete that we don't have enough time to do them all. There's definitely a cultural revolution taking place here, and I feel like Old NE is right in the middle of it. If you can afford it, I'd recommend this neighborhood to anyone!"
