3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child was suspended in 1st grade for a fight that occurred that the schools states they had no details regarding. In Kindergarten my child was inappropriate touched by another student in the bathroom, without full understanding of the situation, they immediately wrote a referral for both students although my child was violated. On the first day of school they sent my son home on the school bus although he was enrolled in after school care at the school. No one was home. I found out when I went to the school to pick up my 6 year old and he was not there. The schools response is that they have a lot of students to keep up with. I do not recommend this school to anyone and strongly feel the state should intervene.Parent Review2mo ago - Springfield High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is awful. We pulled our child out of it after two weeks. There is a huge racial divide among the students. Our child would come home daily dejected from being called a "cracker" and worse. Their way of dealing with discipline is to have students sit in the corner of the room and write about what they did wrong. It takes 10 of these to get a detention. So basically there is no discipline. Don't send your kids to this school if you can avoid it.Parent Review9y ago

"We have fireworks during July that are just off the park. Also the park has an amazing event in October called jack o lantern fest. Family friendly and fun! "

"We are located in a really beautiful area, with nature trees and a cobblestone street. You can see the capitol building from the front yard - and the location is perfect for work or going shopping."

"We are visiting Springfield, staying with friends who live on this street. I am enjoying the neighborhood. It is safe to take an evening walk. Washington Park is very close by. The houses and yards are maintained very well. People walk their dogs too. If we were in the market to move to Springfield I would be looking to buy in this area."

"Due to a promotion we had to move to Chicago two years ago. I really miss our neighborhood. It was such a great place to live. When we retire, WE WILL be moving back to the Historic West Side of Springfield. "
