"Newton is a community of friendly smart people, excellent and progressive schools, and very very safe neighborhoods. It’s relatively diverse for a generally wealthy town, with lots of mixed income housing and some great blue collar neighborhoods. Our kids’ small elementary school (Burr) community had 27 languages other than English spoken at home. "

"This is a hidden gem part of Newton with wonderful access to the Ma. Pike, Rt. 95 and the Commuter Rail. Riverside Station on the Green line is within a 10-15 minute walk. Lovely old homes. Good neighborhood shcool (Burr) and huge park on the Charles River (The Cove)."

"Auburndale is one of the communities of Newton and not the most expensive. Connected to 128, the Pike, subway, train station, bus, etc. Probably one of the best towns and this area of Newton is only 20 minutes from downtown via the Mass Pike or the train. Subway is 3/4 of a mile. Perfect for kids but the neighborhood has all ages and family compositions. Few houses on sale and many are sold without advertising. Ask around. Houses are not cheap but they never loose value because of the schools, etc. "
