Description

The Union Street Lofts are made up of 5 separate turn-of-the-century buildings that were built in downtown New Bedford. The buildings include the Phinney Building, New Bedford Dry Goods, the AE Coffin Building, the Haste Building and the Eddy Building. The buildings are located on Union, Pleasant, and Purchase Streets in New Bedford's historic district.

These buildings have been fully renovated into 35 Studio, 1 and 2 bedroom lofts for rent, as well as 16,000 square feet of retail space. The brick and stone exteriors have been restored. New electrical, cable, broad-band internet, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems have been installed. Loft finishes include a mix of hardwood floors, new wall-to-wall carpeting, and new energy-efficient oversized windows. Kitchens are fully applianced and several lofts have harbor views. Each loft is unique and designed to provide the maximum amount of natural light with high ceilings and open floor plans for comfort and creativity.

"I think people would have respect seeing any Person walking their dog but some people don’t like when owners don’t clean up after their pets. And there’s a lot of people who are really nosy and sometimes it can be really disturbing and the fact that you can’t even trust the neighborhood, like letting your kids play outside it’s not how it used to be !"

"Every place has good and bad areas, New Bedford has many historical places to visit as a family, and many parks and playgrounds for kids as well as for schooling. I believe you just have to be in a better part of the neighborhood. There’s only a few areas that aren’t the greatest."

"New Bedford is a city in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. As of the 2019 census, the city had a total population of 100,345,[3] making it the sixth-largest city in Massachusetts. New Bedford is nicknamed "The Whaling City" because during the 19th century, the city was one of the most important whaling ports in the world, along with Nantucket, Massachusetts and New London, Connecticut.[4] The city, along with Fall River and Taunton, make up the three largest cities in the South Coast region of Massachusetts and is known for its fishing fleet and accompanying seafood producing industries as well as having a high concentration of Luso Americans (Portuguese or from a former Portuguese colony). "In order to walk safely in this area since there are no sidewalks you’ll need to walk along the front of your neighbors yards. They would rather you walk in the street and risk getting killed unless of course you’re a member of their family. Other then that you can trespass on many of the open lots that are filled with ticks. I found five in three weeks on my dog from just one visit to one of these empty lots"
