Description

Shadyside Commons offers newly renovated 1- and 2- bedroom apartments that combine a contemporary living space with a peaceful environment in the coveted Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Built in 1903, the building was constructed as a hardware store for Pittsburgh businessman John Bindle and, over a century later, the 4-story brick building still flaunts its unusually sharp style and quality details. Large brick arches, handsome cornices and oversized industrial windows couple with proximity to downtown Pittsburgh to create your perfect luxury residence. Apartments include modern kitchens and baths, ample closet space with adjustable shelving and custom storage, and in-suite washers & dryers. Located near the University of Pittsburgh, UPMC-Shadyside, and Carnegie Mellon, Shadyside Commons offers easy access to the city's parks, shopping, and restaurants, in the vibrant, yet cozy residential neighborhood of Shadyside.

"Lots of college students in the area. It’s typically safe, but sometimes a little rowdy. Most people are respectful and it’s a more diverse part of the city. "

"Shadyside is immaculately kept up. The public areas are clean and safe at night. I'm a small woman and feel safe walking alone at night. There are a lot of families here, and even though we are surrounded by colleges, the neighborhood has much more if a "family" feel than a "college" one. I love Shadyside!"

"If I could afford to live in Shadyside, I wouldn't choose any other neighborhood in the city. It's just the best in all ways: several huge parks nearby, minutes from universities, enough parking (though it's tough sometimes), tons of shopping, restaurants, and most of all the people who live there really care about it. This is Pgh's "chic" area. Very cool and urban but not uptight. If you're going to live in Pittsburgh, live in the east end - and from there, if you can afford it, live in Shadyside."
