What Locals Say about Cleveland Park

  • Trulia User
"It’s a very pet-friendly neighborhood. There are lots of impromptu sidewalk doggie play dates. Everyone cleans up after their dog. There is easy access to Rock Creek Park"

"Lots of great walking routes. Easy access to rock creek park. Small neighborhood parks. Some traffic though on Connecticut. "

"Lots of stairs and hills can be hard on older dogs or dogs with health issues. Otherwise, great neighborhood. "

"There are dogs everywhere. Super dog friendly. The only downfall is no real dog parks near by. But there are great walking trails and hikes. "

"My Family has lived here since 1938. We have a 3 rd generation home. Nice big yard for dogs. My neighbor has a pool. We just had an ally party. My next door neighbors have lived there since 1976. We have Cherry trees that line our street. Old azaleas everywhere."

"The pop up farmer’s market on Connecticut is a great addition to the shopping options. I don’t do any other community events aside from visiting local restaurants/shops. "

"Great access to public transit, but I work in Rockville, so I drive. Not a bad drive out of the city (Connecticut right to 495). "

"I’ve loved living here. I’ve been here 2 years and it’s been great. It can be a little bit more expensive than other areas, but this neighborhood is worth it. I moved here right out of college without a great job, but even when I was tight, I appreciated the proximity to Rock Creek, great affordable restaurants, and the metro. "

"Lived here for 5-6 years - it’s the cleanest, most “neighborhood” type place in dc. You walk to the bank and they know your name... everything is on one block - drug store, pet store, restaurants, cleaners, grocery store, bank, liquor store, clothing shops, coffee shops, bike shop etc. lots of trees and relatively zero crime. It’s a very clean cut part of dc tons of dog parks, parks, schools, trails, jungle gyms, etc. this neighborhood is bad for only two reasons - one it’s extremely gentrified - two it makes all other neighborhoods seem inadequate in convenience and cleanliness "
