What Locals Say about Central City

  • Trulia User
"It's safe for children, but there just aren't that many. The neighborhood is aging and most young people can't afford to live here. There are mainly young professionals moving in. "

"yes, and picks after there dogs, kids playing, adults having bbq's, close to store's, quite neighborhood, dogs don't bite, cleaning their yards, bus stations"

"New multi unit apartment buildings have been and are being constructed. A lot of construction and pipeline maintenance is going on resulting in detours and traffic issues. When all that is completed, it should be a great improvement. There are homeless scattered around but that is throughout the greater Salt Lake City area."

"Charming cozy homes in a great town that makes you feel apart of a loving uptown community. I can smell the coffee brewing and I've got that cuddle up and read a book feeling. Lovely area to get out and go for relaxing walks as well."

"Cute area with local shops. Be careful of petty crime, including car break-ins, loitering, and package stealing. "

"Not really a great place to raise a family. And any parks around here are a good walk away if you don”t have a vehicle. It’s loud at times and not very reliable for safety. Rent is too expensive "

"Nice if you don’t have a vehicle easy to get around because everything is close but not ideal for families, there’s always construction somewhere in this neighborhood, it’s very loud. it’s very expensive to live here. "

"There is a lot of development happening now. Lots of homes with character. Some need some work. The commercial options are nice, it is quite walkable"

"Salt Lake City is kind of a sleepy little town. Not much going on after 8-9pm most nights............"

"There's always areas to walk around any time youd like and there's lots of walking areas. However lots of transients live around so you may deal with them bothering you to pet your animal but everyone is super friendly for the most part but late nights lots of less transients but very wishy washy. "Great for dogs, walkable, close to a lot of parks. Some people don’t clean up after their dogs, it can be a minefield in some places. "

"I would not say this is a family friendly neighborhood. There are lots of random people on the streets but it is really close to the park which is very family friendly"

"This is a nice area right by smiths and close to the library, several parks and the free Trax area. Perfect for active couples or college students. Incredibly easy and fast commute to the University of Utah, City Creek and Gateway Shopping Centers, and to downtown."
