"There are a few dog parks in the area and people were genuinely happy to see dog around (depending on the training). People pick after there pets. Besides the dog parks there are great outdoor locations to walk and play with you pet."

"everyone seems to keep to themselves unless they've been here for a while. there are a lot if events between here and downtown but nothing that's super interesting. sometimes we get cool exhibits. "

"Pretty, nice, pet friendly neighborhood. There are dog parks, or nice spaces to take or walk your dog. Kind of expensive if you want to buy or rent. "

"The neighborhoods are family friendly but the drivers in the area are not always paying attention to pedestrians. Street parking is difficult as not everyone parks in a way that allows other cars to park there as well. "

"Walkable, ride a bike, take a scooter or drive to work 10 minutes away. Very convenient to downtown. There is also light rail."

"The houses are incredible, 100 years old and have been renovated. The eclectic, creative, educated people who live here. Walking to funky shops, intimate restaurants. Ghent in progressive. I love it. "

"I love Ghent! I appreciate the small restaurants and eclectic, artsy people I have around me. There are many parks and I feel like my daughter is safe within this area. Schools are mediocre at best. But there are plenty of private schools. I send my daughter to public schools, but she’s in a special program designed for gifted kids. "

"Incredibly walkable area. Multiple groceries, bars/restaurants, shops, and churches within walking distance. Lots of people born and raised here, but lots of transplants as well here for the Navy, EVMS, and ODU. Lots of cultural diversity in terms of people and food. "
