What Locals Say about Fairmount

"Our family has lived in Fairmount since 1970 and we are a second generation in our 1908 bungalow. The neighborhood has evolved and improved dramatically since 1990. It’s once again THE place to live in Fort Worth for community, activities, arts, a wide range of dining opportunities, excellent nearby medical care and diversity. "

"We bought our circa 1908 Fairmount home from my husbands parents in 1990 and his parents had owned it since 1970. This is a very stable, family friendly community and it’s become even more fun and vibrant every year! "

"Fairmount is a revitalized turn of the century community. People who choose to live here appreciate history and old fashioned values yet they creatively update while retaining the charm and spirit. Homes have porches and neighbors are friendly, helpful, yet not intrusive. "

"I live here; the neighbors are kind and helpful. Fairmount was even lovelier before two owners (both brand new to the area, obviously) took it upon themselves to chop down two huge and healthy century-old pecan trees (part of the charm of living within viewing distance of downtown Fort Worth is the big trees). One owner is building a McMansion, so the tree went and the house now completely fills the lot instead. It's a crime!!"
