Elk is an unincorporated community in Mendocino County, California. It is located 22 miles south of Fort Bragg, at an elevation of 135 feet. It is located on the coast at the crossroads of State Route 1 and Philo-Greenwood Road. Albion, Little River, and Mendocino lie to the north, and Manchester and Point Arena to the south. Inland are Navarro, Philo, and Boonville.
Elk is great because there is an abundance of trees so there is no lack of places to sit and read in the shade. Feel free to leave your car at home and commute by bicycle each day, like many of this locale's residents do.
There's no need to have a spouse and three kids to fit in with the people of Elk since many of its occupants are single. Any men who move here will find themselves in the minority here as this city's current population is predominantly female.
In Elk's real estate market, the average listing price increased 0.6 percent year-over-year to reach $1,260,111 from $1,252,846 last year. Some properties in this vicinity have nice ocean views that are perfect for peaceful relaxation and contemplation after a hard day.
