"Living in Brooktrails can be difficult, 10 min drive to town, not safe to walk or ride bikes on Sherwood Rd and no safe alternative. While houses and rent may seem less than in town, utilities are high."

"Brooktrails has had a checkered past - pot growers took over homes abandoned after the bubble burst and trashed a lot of places. But its coming back. Housing costs are at rock bottom - if you're looking for a great price on a home in the redwoods, this is the place. The town, Willits, is as friendly and engaging as any town I've ever been to. We're looking for our retirement home here, and have no doubt we'll find it."

"Bad roads in winter. A lot of the houses are manufactured houses, many have not been maintained and some of the decks in particular are unsafe. "
