8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe McKinley community is strong and supportive. Our child has been attending the past 4 years and really loves it. While there have been ups and downs with recent changes in teachers and leadership, I cannot say enough about the families and children who go to this school. There are many opportunities and events for families to get to know one another. Parents are engaged, kids are kind, and teachers really do try their best for all students. The fact that the school is brand new and is a great facility for student learning and safety is an added bonus.Parent Review9mo ago7 Reviews - Roosevelt Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHaving had the honor of attending Roosevelt Elementary myself, I can confidently say it is a school about laying a strong foundation for academics as well as life in general. It is a nurturing setting with caring teachers whose curriculum is directed at nudging and motivating children in a vast range of courses including reading, math, science, social studies, and fine arts. Roosevelt's holistic philosophy of learning prepares children not only for success in the next year level but for life in general. One of Roosevelt's biggest assets is its teachers. Most of Roosevelt's faculty regularly show professionalism, kindness, and actual enthusiasm for their children. They make every effort to enhance learning, stimulate curiosity, and provide an environment where children are respected and cared for. Many teachers take a step further to form close bonds with their children, ensuring each child understands they are an advocate for them.Though my experience at Roosevelt as a whole was decidedly positive, there was one teacher whose method was less inclusive, frequently displaying favoritism and engendering a spirit of unfairness amongst peers. That aside, however, it was not the norm. The majority of the staff regularly made efforts to make certain that students were equally treated and equally equipped with what it took for them to make it. Their professionalism and supportiveness served to offset that adversity, keeping in mind for me that one educator does not comprise an entire school. Roosevelt Elementary is, at its core, a community. It is a place where kids are prompted to explore their capabilities, teachers are invested in their futures, and lifelong friendships and memories form. Hindsight causes me to appreciate a strong academic foundation and set of individual values instilled there, and I do think Roosevelt is still an ideal location for kids to learn and grow.Other Review10mo ago10 Reviews - Washington Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm 72 years old now so I have a long history in this area relative to Wilson Scbool. My 83 year old brother, and all of us 6 children attended Wilson school long ago. I left there in tha 1950's. A quick review of the "WHO'S-WHO" in this city will reveal dozens of respected public officials, attorneys, doctos and business leaders in our community. I see many of them on T.V. as community leaders. I myself lead several businesses over my lifetime and have my kindergarten class picture from 1953 on display - with numerous notable local leaders in that class.Wilson School has been in this community a long time and grown through the past 50 or more years. The leaders it has turned out attests to the quality of it;s educators and curriculum. It remains in the hearts of our family as it has since 1942 when we moved across the street from it.Other Review5y ago4 Reviews - Eighty-First Street School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe individuals who work here show favoritism. It seems that they like the disobedient children more than the - obedient ones. The defiant ones get rewarded but the respectful ones barely get the recognition they deserve. In addition to favoring the defiant ones, they also favor those with ties to a staff member or a student's relative. You could be a straight-A student with perfect attendance and only get credited for it at a ceremony that they only have three times a year. If you're a defiant student who is always in detention, ISS, or suspended, you'll be highly liked by others and get rewarded for small things. Even better if you know a staff member well or they know you well. There is always a situation with their staff being unprofessional. They don't handle bullying the way they should. The same students who are known to be disrespectful or mean towards others are still attending the school, even after multiple disciplines. If a student is visibly struggling with their mental health, instead of trying to help them, they try to push them out of their comfort zone and that is not the way to approach that. They rarely have a ceremony or meeting about bullying, they just brush it aside by simply disciplining the student instead of actually trying to understand why they’re doing it. You even get in trouble just for defending yourself, and if you’re not someone they favor? They don’t even try to listen to you. If you don't want your child to be under stress 24/7, do NOT send them here. This place absolutely disgusts me and I despise it with everything within me. It is still the same way it was years ago.Other Review1mo ago13 Reviews - Wauwatosa Catholic School
